Obituary of Mallett, Frederick Joseph
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Wednesday, October 26th, 2005 of Frederick 'Fred' Joseph Mallett of Miscouche, aged 87 years. Beloved husband of 50 years to Hazel ( nee Cotton ) Mallett.
Fred was born on July 6, 1918 in Alma, P.E.I. to his parents, the late George & Agnes ( nee Veno ) Mallett. Loving father of Jean ( Jim ) Hoitsma of Red Deer, Ab., Barbara ( Wayne ) Poirier of Miscouche, Wanda Mallett of S'side, Mary Newsome of S'side, Patsy ( Roy ) Arsenault of Miscouche, Annie ( Mike ) Arsenault of Miscouche, Junior of S'side, Brian ( Debbie ) of Ottawa, On., Paul ( Karen ) of S'side and Peter ( Elizabeth ) of Miscouche. Also lovingly remembered by his 20 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, his sister-in-law Lorinda Myers of Miscouche and several nieces and nephews. Survived by his sisters Aida Perry of St. Louis, Eva Gaudet of Ch'town, Rennie ( John ) Roberge of Ottawa, On. and Julia ( Brendon ) Bell of North River.
Predeceased by his first wife Zita (nee O'Brien ) Mallett, his daughter Joyce Cormier, his sister Emma Bernard , his brothers Leo Mallet, Wilfred Mallet, Eddie Myers, John Myers,Robert Myers, Henry Myers and his step-father Maurice Myers.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday then to St. John the Baptist Church , Miscouche for funeral mass at 10:30 A.M.. Following cremation,interment to take place in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Fred's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or St. John the Baptist Church would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M.. Comrades of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 18 Miscouche will hold a Service of Remembrance at the funeral home on Friday evening at 6:45 P.M..

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
