Obituary of MacNeill, Russell F.
MacNeill : .. The death occurred suddenly at his late residence on Saturday,
November 26th , 2005 of Russell Frederick MacNeill of 26 Lady Slipper Dr.,
Miscouche, aged 63 years. Russell was born in Miscouche, P.E.I. on October 25th ,1942, to his parents , the late Fred & Anna ( nee Gallant ) MacNeill. Dear husband of Mary Lou ( nee Hart ) MacNeill and loving father of Shelley ( Jeff ) DesRoches of Lot 16 and Heather MacNeill of Ottawa, Ont. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Taylor, Kegan and Katelynn DesRoches. Survived by his brothers Jack ( Irene ) and Joe ( Joan ) of Saint John, N.B. and his sister Marjorie ( Tom ) McGuigan of Mass., U.S.A.. Predeceased by his brothers Urban, Bob and Vernon MacNeill and his sister Mary Hilda MacNeill in infancy. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home , 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday , then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for funeral mass at 10:30 A.M. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Russell's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Monday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M. . In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
