Obituary of Williams, Mary Elva
The death occurred peacefully at the Lennox Nursing Home,Charlottetown on Saturday, December 10th , 2005 of Mary 'Elva' Williams , formerly of Tyne Valley, aged 100 years. Elva was born in Tyne Valley on November 10th, 1905,to her parents, the late John & Marianne ( nee Ellis ) Williams.
Beloved sister of Erma Gorrill of BirchHill and Glenn MacKinnon of St. Eleanor's. Also lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her sisters Evelyn ( Vernor ) Wood, Ella ( Harold ) MacLean, Olive Williams and Orell Williams , her brother Hinson ( Annie )Williams and her brothers-in-law Prowse Gorrill and William MacKinnon.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside where a private family visitation and funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel. Interment to take place in St. John's Anglican Cemetery, Ellerslie.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
