Obituary of Gallant, Lucy Irene
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her family at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside on Saturday, January 7th , 2006 of Lucy Irene Gallant ( nee Long ) , formerly of 225 Linden Ave., Summerside , aged 96 years. Lucy was born in Milburn, P.E.I. on August 31, 1909 , daughter of the late John and Bridget ( nee McGuire ) Long.
Loving mother of Louise ( Frank ) MacCormack of Summerside,Wilma ( Dale ) Small of Rice Point, Mary ( David ) Olscamp of Schurman's Point and Blair ( Clare ) Gallant of St. Albert, Alberta. Also lovingly remembered by her 9 grandchildren , 4 great grandchildren and her sister-in-law Clara Carter of Souris.
Predeceased by her husband William M. Gallant, her sisters Margaret MacDonald and Mary McNally and her brother Phillip Long.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home,245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Tuesday, then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 A.M. . Interment to take place at a later date in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Lucy's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Wedgewood Manor Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Monday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M. . A prayer service will be held by members of St. Paul's C.W.L. on Monday afternoon at 3:45 P.M. at the funeral home.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
