Obituary of MacNeill, Hilda Noreen
The death occurred at the South Shore Villa, Crapaud on Monday , April 24th , 2006 of Hilda Noreen MacNeill ( nee Cameron ) , formerly of Eastern Passage, N.S. , aged 76 years. Hilda was born in Wellington, P.E.I. on May 17th , 1929 to her parents, the late Sabie & Eileen Cameron. Beloved wife of the late Ronald R. MacNeill .
Loving mother of Sharon ( Tony ) Stewart of Lower Sackville, N.S. and grandmother to Derek and Lauren Stewart. Survived by her brothers Emmett ( Norma ) Cameron , Pius ( Elinor ) Cameron , Louis ( Lillian ) Cameron and her sisters Viola ( Cecil ) Cameron , Beatrice Deighan and Sarah ( John ) Bryson. Also lovingly remembered by her sister-in-law Marion MacKinnon, her uncle Lorne Smith, her best friend Myrtle MacAusland along with many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Justin Cameron and her brother-in-law Richard Deighan.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday, May 6th , then to Immaculate Conception Church, Wellington for funeral mass at 11:00 A.M. . Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Hilda's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday, May 5th , from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M. .

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
