Obituary of Coughlin, Jennie Maude
The death occurred peacefully at the Wedgewood Manor,Summerside on Thursday , July 20th , 2006 Jennie Maude Coughlin (nee Smallman ), formerly of 745 Flamingo Dr., Summerside and also of Carleton Siding , aged 84 years. Jennie was born in Knutsford, P.E.I. on June 19th 1922, to her parents, the late Oliver & Floyd ( nee MacDougall ) Smallman .
Beloved wife of the late Kenneth Coughlin and loving mother of Glenda Coughlin of S'side. Also lovingly remembered by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, brothers & sisters-in-law and special cousins. Survived by her sisters Eileen ( Arnold ) Smallman of Knutsford, Dorothy ( Alvin ) Ellis of Roslin, Ont. and her brother-in-law Scottie Auckland of Ab. .
Besides her parents and her husband, she was predeceased by her sister Irene Auckland .
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 P.M.. Interment to take place in People's Cemetery, Summerside . Following the committal service , there will be a reception held at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside.
Memorial donations in Jennie's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Wedgewood Manor Equipment Fund would be greatly appreciated. By personal request, there will be a private visitation for family only on Friday evening , 7 - 9 P.M.. Due to severe family allergies, flowers greatfully declined and please refrain from wearing scents & perfumes during the visitation and funeral service.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
