Obituary of Corney, E. Lila
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Thursday, December 21st , 2006 of E. Lila Corney ( nee MacDonald ) of Summerside and formerly of Tyne Valley, aged 74 years. Lila was born in Tyne Valley , P.E.I. on July 10th , 1932 to her parents , the late Peter & Jessie ( nee Rix ) MacDonald.
Beloved wife of the late Fred Corney and dear mother of Lynn Corney of S'side , Kent ( Nancy ) of S'side , step-daughter Myrna Cater of Toronto, On. and step-son Allen Corney of S'side. Also lovingly remembered by her 4 step-grandchildren , many step-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Survived by her niece ( raised as her sister ) Juanita ( John ) Morrison of S'side and her sisters-in-law Joyce MacDonald of Saint John,N.B. , Florence MacDonald of S'side and Roberta MacDonald of Barrie, On. .
Besides her husband and her parents, Lila was predeceased by her infant son Sydney,her brothers Orville, Chester & Roy MacDonald and her sister Jean Farris.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home , 245 Pope Rd., Summerside where a private funeral service will be held next week. Interment to take place in People's Cemetery, Summerside . Visiting hours for the public on Saturday, Dec. 23rd , 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. . Donations in Lila's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Wedgewood Manor Equipment Fund or the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
