Obituary of Bray, John " Jack " Sidney

The death occurred peacefully & surrounded by loved ones on Friday,February 9th , 2007 of John 'Jack' Sidney Bray of Perrin's Clinton View Lodge, Clinton and formerly of Ottawa, On., aged 83 years. Jack was a veteran of W.W.II , the recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross and one of 16 Canadian Veterans inducted into the Memorial Museum Hall of Valor in 2002. Jack was born in Swan River ,Manitoba on May 17th , 1923 to his parents, the late Sidney & Bessie ( nee Fox ) Bray. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Marguerite 'Peggy' ( nee Mansell ) Bray,his loving & very proud children Jane ( Gary ) Somers of S'side, Susan ( Gordon )Garriock of Miscouche ,Catherine Walls of Detroit, Mich. and John of Ottawa, On..Survived by his sister Mary Hutton of Toronto, On. . Affectionately know as 'Gampy' by his seven grandchildren Christopher ( Christine ) Somers of Halifax, N.S., Peter ( Michele) Somers of Louisbourg , N.S. , Robyn ( Andrew ) Griffin of S'side, Brayden teaching in Korea, Benji ( Teries ) of Detroit, Mich. & Shrita ( Johnny ) Clark of Detroit , Mich. . Also known as ' Ol'Gampy ' to seven great grandchildren. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at the East Prince Funeral Home Chapel, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside on Monday at 2:00 p.m.. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Jack's memory to Perrin's Clinton View Lodge would be greatly appreciated. No visiting hours by family request.
