Obituary of Withers, Derek John

The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor,Summerside on Tuesday, July 3rd , 2007 of Derek John Withers, formerly of 296 Pope Rd., Summerside , aged 77 years. Derek was born on September 4th, 1929 in England,to his parents, the late Henry & Ethel Withers . Beloved husband of Velma ( nee Arsenault ) Withers. Loving father of Debbie ( George ) of Keswick, On. and Sue ( Jeff ) of North York, On. and step-father of David Maddix of S'side and Wayne ( Louanne ) Maddix of S'side. Also lovingly remembered by his grandson Liam,step-grandchildren Dylan & Logan and several brothers & sisters of his wife Velma. Survived by his sisters-in-law Jill & Muriel Withers of England. Besides his parents, Derek was predeceased by his brothers David & Barry Withers. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday, for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Visiting hours on Thursday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. . Interment to take place in St. Paul's Church Cemetery,Summerside. Memorial donations in Derek's memory to the Parkinson's Foundation of Canada or the Alzheimer Society of P.E.I. would be greatly appreciated.
