Obituary of Gallant, Reinnie Isabele
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside on Wednesday,October 10th, 2007 of Reinnie Isabele Gallant ( nee McKay ), formerly of Summerside , aged 89 years. Reinnie was born in Barryville, N.B. on April 29th , 1920 to her parents, the late Wilfred & Albina ( nee Albert ) McKay. Beloved wife of her first husband, the late Aeneas MacIntyre and her second husband, the late Alfred Gallant.
Loving mother of Wilfred MacIntyre ( Pearl Grant ), Edwin ( Gloria ) MacIntyre, Eileen LeClair , Barb Gallant, Gail ( Ross ) McKie all of Summerside, Helen MacIntyre ( Marvin Cann ) of Grand River, Ann ( Bob ) Seymour of Edmonton, Ab. and her step-children Leonard ( Shirley ) Gallant of Rustico, Lorraine Reed of Cold Lake, Ab., Helen ( Kenny ) Gallant of Rustico and Louise ( Owen ) Green of Stanley Bridge. Survived by her brother Wilfred McKay and her sisters Winnie Mattchett & Doris Goodfellow all of Miramichi, N.B. and Ruby Young of Quebec. Also lovingly remembered by her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces & nephews.
Besides her parents & her husbands, Reinnie was predeceased by her infant son Joseph Aeneas and several brothers and sisters, all from Miramichi, N.B..
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday , October 12th , then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 2:00 p.m.. Interment to take place in St. Ann's Church Cemetery, Hope River. Memorial donations in Reinnie's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Wedgewood Manor Equipment Fund or to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
