Obituary of Wedge, John James Wilfred
The death occurred suddenly as the result of an accident in Toronto, On. on May 31st , 2008 of John James Wilfred Wedge of Toronto and formerly of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 55 years.
John was born in Summerside, P.E.I. on December 23rd , 1952 and is the eldest son of Jack & Phyllis ( nee Gallant ) Wedge. He leaves to mourn his longtime partner & friend Jeff and brothers & sisters : Mary ( Mike ) Hennessey of Charlottetown, Cyndria of Charlottetown, Kenton, Alexander ( Julie ) & Paul of Summerside and George ( Shelley ) of Scarborough, On. Also lovingly remembered by his fourteen nieces & nephews.
John was predeceased by his sister Jane Elizabeth.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, June 9th then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in John's memory to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
