Obituary of DesRoche, Shirley Mary
The death occurred suddenly at the Prince County Hospital,Summerside, P.E.I. on Saturday, July 5th, 2008 of Shirley Mary DesRoche( nee Walsh ) of Slemon Park, aged 66 years. Shirley was born on July 9th , 1941 in Summerside, P.E.I. to her father ,the late David C. Walsh & her mother Minnie ( nee Arsenault ) Walsh-Blacquiere of the Wedgewood Manor,Summerside.
Loving mother of Michael ( Sandra ) of S'side, John ( Joanne ) of Cambridge, N.S., Donna of Slemon Park, Kendell of Grand River & Danielle of Slemon Park. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Christopher,Nicholas, Peter, Melanie, Jenna, Sara, Jennifer, Joshua & Ashley. Survived by her brothers Wendall Walsh of Vancouver, B.C. & Jack ( Patricia ) Walsh of Moncton N.B. and her sister Arlene ( Phillip ) Woodford of S'side.
Shirley was predeceased by her father David Walsh and also her husband and dear friend Peter DesRoche.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside . Following cremation, visiting hours to be held on Tuesday evening only, 7 - 9 p.m..
There will be no memorial service held, however interment & a committal service will take place in St. Paul's Cemetery ,Summerside at a later date.
Memorial donations in Shirley's memory to the P.E.I. Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
