Obituary of DesRoches, Lucie Mary

DesRoches : The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Tuesday, July 29th , 2008 of Lucie Mary DesRoches ( nee Gallant ) of 464 Notre Dame St. Summerside , P.E.I. , aged 88 years. Lucie was born on July 13, 1920 in Mont Carmel, P.E.I. to her late parents , Emmanuel and Gertrude (Arsenault) Gallant. Beloved wife of the late Arthur DesRoches. Loving mother of Ruby Szanyi, London, On, Elsie (Larry) Caverley, Comox BC, Helen (Mike) Bowman, Kitchener, On., Linda Winchester, S'Side and Sheila (Marcel) Arsenault, S'Side ,and her daughter-in-law Liz DesRoches. She was the loving grandmother of 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She is also survived by her brothers and sister: Gussie (Agnes) Gallant, S'Side, Bill (Juanita) Gallant, Halifax, and Rita Sangster, Stratford, On, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and her husband she was predeceased by her son Arthur Jr. and her brothers and sisters: Fidele, Azade, Mary Louise Peters, Adeline Blacquiere, Melvina Richard, Lottie Elliot, Theresa MacKay, Willie, Edmond and Theophile. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Saturday, then to St. Paul's Church for funeral mass at 10:30 am. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 2-4 and 7-9. Memorial donations in Lucie's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the Canadian Mental Health Association would be appreciated.
