Obituary of McArthur, Stanley Nelson
The death occurred peacefully at Andrews Lodge,Summerside, P.E.I.,on Tuesday, August 26, 2008 of Stanley Nelson McArthur, of Summerside, aged 83 years. Stanley was born in Alberton, P.E.I. on November 24, 1924, to his late parents, James & Olive (Shaw) McArthur.
Beloved husband of Eileen (nee Green) McArthur & loving father of Muriel of S'side & Kevin (Tara) and grandaughter MacKenzie of White Court, Alberta. Survived by his brothers & sister: Lillian ( Aubrey ) Morrell of Salisbury, N.B., Garfield ( Amy ) of S'side, & Wilfred ( Gloria ) of Travellers Rest.
Beside his parents,Stanley was predeceased by his first wife, Muriel ( nee Broderick ) McArthur & brothers Hughie & George and by his sister Charlotte in infancy.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday, August 29th for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. Interment to take place in Nazarene Cemetery, Mount Pleasant. Visiting hours on Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. Memorial donations in Stanley's memory to the Stanley McArthur Funeral Expense Fund would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
