Obituary of Ramsay, Ernest Birch

The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Friday, September 19th , 2008 of Ernest Birch Ramsay , affectionately known as 'POP', of Miscouche ,and formally of Conway, aged 89 years. Ernest was born in Northam on September 24th ,1918 , to his late parents Russell & Devona ( nee Birch ) Ramsay . Husband of Bernice ( nee Milligan ) Ramsay & loving father of Nancy ( Jimmy ) Keough of Linkletter, Bill ( Emilia ), Sandra ( Murray ) Westgard, & Robert, all of Red Deer Alb., Ronald of Enmore & Edna ( Ted ) MacLeod of Tidnish, N.S.. Also lovingly remembered by his 10 grandchildren , 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Survived by his sisters : Rita Dyment of S'side & Kathleen MacLean of N.S.. Besides his parents , Ernest was predeceased by his sisters Edna, Maude and infant sister Berdie, and by his brothers Ray, Alger & George. Also predeceased by his grandson Jacob MacLeod and by his daughter-in-law Sandra Ramsay. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home , 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, until Monday, September 22nd, 2008 for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m.. Interment to take place in the Tyne Valley Presbyterian Cemetery at a later date. No visiting hours by family request.
