Obituary of Kinch, George Michael Charles " Junior "
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, September 23rd,2008 of George Michael Charles 'Junior' Kinch of Summerside,aged 66 years. Junior was born in Alberton ,P.E.I. on September 14th, 1942 to his late parents, George & Gladys ( nee Barnett ) Kinch.
Beloved husband of Lilla ( nee Yeo ) Kinch and loving father of Vivian ( Ivan ) Gallant , Gailene ( Paul ) Profit , Naveta , George ( Monique ) , Glenda ( Glenn ) Fitzpatrick & Blair ( Donna ) Albert all of P.E.I.. Also lovingly remembered by his 13 grandchildren, 1 great-child and numerous nieces & nephews. Survived by the following brothers & sisters : Margaret ( Roy ) Jeffery , Betty ( Clarence ) Arsenault , Naveta Chappell , Faye ( Wyman ) Ellis all of Summerside , Pearl Leveque of Ont., Wilma ( Gerald ) Beamish of Saint John, N.B. , Roma Matthew of S'side, May Kinch of Saint John , N.B. , Barry ( Nora ) of S'side, Linda ( Keith ) Taylor of Ottawa, Ont. , Boyd of Vancouver , B.C. , Jack ( Della ) of Saint John , N.B. and Susan of Alberton.
Besides his parents , Junior was predeceased by his son Donald, his grandson Donald Kinch in infancy, his brothers Blair & Doug, his sister Georgie Thomas and numerous aunts & uncles.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday,September 26th for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. . Interment to take place in People's Cemetery, Summerside. No visiting hours by personal request . In lieu of flowers , memorial donations in Junior's memory to Generation XX of Summerside would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
