Obituary of DesRoches, Clarisse Alice
The death occurred peacefully at the Wedgewood Manor, Summerside on Wednesday, October 8th,2008 of Clarisse Alice DesRoches ( nee Poirier ),formerly of Miscouche , aged 99 years. Clarisse was born on March 27th , 1909 to her late parents, Arsene & Bernadette Poirier.
Beloved wife of the late Tilman S. DesRoches and loving mother of Lionel ( Marie ) of Miscouche, Armand ( Judy ) of Charlottetown and Claudette ( Jim ) Cramm of Miscouche. Survived by her brothers Gerard Poirier of Miscouche and Jules Poirier of Calgary, Ab.. Also lovingly remembered by her 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents & her husband , Clarisse was predeceased by her daughter Louise , her brothers Albert , Paul & Nazaire and her sisters Alvina, Lucille, Louise, Virginia, Eunice & Juilette.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday, Oct. 10th ,then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for funeral mass at 10:30 A.M.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Clarisse's memory to the Wedgewood Manor Equipment Fund or to St. John the Baptist Church Restoration Fund would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday evening only , 7 - 9 p.m..

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
