Obituary of Bergeron, Elaine Mary " Sis "
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Thursday, October 23rd , 2008 of Elaine Mary 'Sis' Bergeron ( nee Companion ) of Summerside, aged 74 years. Sis was born in Murray Road, P.E.I. on August 12th , 1934 to her late parents, Mike & Thelma ( nee Fitzgerald ) Companion.
Beloved mother of Marilyn ( Brian ) MacDonald of Ingersol, On., Donna ( Andrew ) Gallant of Wellington & Michael ( Peggy ) Coolican of Hopatcong, N.J.. Also lovingly remembered by her 10 grandchildren,4 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Survived by her sister Roberta ( Donald )Perry and her brother Bobby ( Carol ) Companion , all of Ontario.
Besides her parents , Sis was predeceased by her brother Billy Companion, her sister Olive Arsenault and her 1st husband Joseph Martin.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Saturday, October 25th for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m.. Visiting hours on Friday, 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m.
Memorial donations in Sis' memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
