Obituary of MacKenzie, Garth Alexander
The death occurred suddenly at his late residence , on Saturday, November 1st, 2008 of Garth Alexander MacKenzie of Summerside & formerly of Borden-Carleton , P.E.I. , aged 52 years. Garth was born in Summerside on April 4th , 1956 to his late parents, Myrick & Florence MacKenzie.
Loving father of Jenilee & Jeanine MacKenzie of Summerside. Survived by his sister Norma Richard of S'side , his brothers Charles ( Judy ) of Borden-Carleton & Burton ( Patsy ) of S'side & his brother-in-law Jimmy Gray of Douglastown, N.B. .
Besides his parents , Garth was predeceased by his sister Hazel Gray .
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd. , Summerside until Wednesday, November 5th, 2008 then to the Cape Traverse United Church, Cape Traverse for funeral service at 2:30 p.m. .
Visiting hours on Tuesday , 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. .
Memorial donations in Garth's memory to the Cape Traverse United Church Cemetery Fund would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
