Obituary of Bernard, Velma Marie
?The death occurred at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, on Wednesday, December 31st, 2008 of Velma Marie Bernard ( nee Gaudet ) of Miscouche, P.E.I. and formally of Alberton aged 87 years. Velma was born on February 13th, 1921 in Alberton, P.E.I. to her late parents, Joseph & Celena ( nee DesRoches ) Gaudet.
Beloved wife of the late Cyril Bernard and loving mother of Terry of Elmer, Quebec & Fred of Ottawa, Ont.. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Michael, Mark, Lianne Krista & Vanessa and several nieces & nephews.
Besides her parents & husband, Velma was predeceased by her son Blair, her daughter Sylvia & the following brothers & sisters: Eleanor ( Roger ) Camire, Terry ( Muriel ), Theodore 'Ted' ( Grace ) & Louise in infancy.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday, January 6th, then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for funeral mass at 10:30 A.M.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Velma's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Monday evening only, 7 - 9 p.m. .

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
