Obituary of Cameron, Edson Joseph
The death occurred at Summerside , P.E.I. on Thursday, March 5th , 2009 of Edson Joseph Cameron of Summerside & formerly of Lot 16 , aged 85 years. Edson was born on March 4th , 1924 in Lot 16 to his late parents ,Russell & Gladys ( nee MacKinnon ) Cameron . Beloved husband of the late Isabel ( nee Anderson ) Cameron.
Loving father of Dale ( Della Arsenault ) of S'side and step-father of Wayne ( Jocelyn ) Anderson of S'side, grandfather of Mitchell, Jeremy, Joshua & Candace and great-grandfather of Kyle , Sydney & Cameron. Survived by the following brothers & sisters : Vera ( Roy ) Fitzgerald, Ella Mae Deighan, Jean Smith , Elmer ( Sheila ), Betty ( Vincent ) Poirier & Lee ( Doris ) Cameron. Also lovingly remembered by his special friend Mary Rogers and her children Deanna, Bev, Donnie, David & Debby.
Besides his wife & parents , Edson was predeceased by his brother Ivan ( Isabel ) , his sisters Edith ( Major ) Gamble, Helen ( Ernest ) Gamble & his brothers-in-law Wallace Deighan & Bob Smith.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday, March 10th then to St. John's Anglican Church, St. Eleanors for funeral service at 11:00 a.m. . Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Edson's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Monday , 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. .

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
