Obituary of Hashie, Mary Anne " Bregitte "
The death occurred peacefully & surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Monday , March 16th , 2009 of Mary Anne 'Bregitte' Hashie ( nee Gallant ) of Summerside & formerly of St. Hubert , P.E.I., aged 89 years. Bregitte was born on September 27th , 1919 in Egmont Bay , P.E.I. to her late parents Glorice & Baselice Gallant.
Beloved wife of the late Clarence Hashie & loving mother of Albert ( Zelma ) , Edward ( Norma ), Adeline ( David ) Gallant , Simon ( Nancy ), Alma ( Keith ) Sigsworth , Linda ( Don ) Gallant , Melina Hashie and Maynard ( Vicky ) . Also lovingly remembered by daughter-in-law Marlene Hashie , her grandchildren , great-grandchildren , great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces & nephews. Survived by her brother Norman & sisters Madeleine , Irene, Rita & Therese .
Besides her husband & her parents, Bregitte was predeceased by her children Henry, David & Douglas, her granddaughter Jocelyn Gallant & her brothers & sister Jean Pierre, Joseph, Elizabeth, John, Amand, Leo , Albenie & Augustine .
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Saturday, March 21st, then to St. Paul's Church for funeral mass at 2:00 p.m.. Interment to take place at a later date in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Richmond. In liew of flowers, memorial donations in Bregitte's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
Visiting hours on Friday, 2-4 & 7-9 p.m..
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
