Obituary of Croken, Julian Edward
The death occurred suddenly surrounded by his family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside , P.E.I. on Tuesday, May 26th , 2009 of Edward Julian Croken of Kensington , aged 71 years. Julian was born on February 13th , 1938 in Kensington, P.E.I. to his late parents Aloysius & Eileen (MacKenna) Croken.
Survived by his loving companion Anne MacLean. Loving father of Terry (Mary), Michael (Lynn), Julie (Myles) Doucette, Julianne (Ken) Ramey & Lisa (Cory) MacMillan. Special grandfather of Cory Mohl, Christopher, Jennifer, Brian & Brett Croken, Kristian & Maggie Ramey & Curry & Logan MacMillan. Also lovingly remembered by his brothers & sisters Wendell (Donna) Rudy (Ruth) Rosita (Edward) MacDonald, Kaye Coates & Herb (Sara). Also survived by several nieces & nephews, brothers & sisters-in-law, step-children & step grandchildren.
Besides his parents Julian was predeceased by his sister Debbie Connick and his brother-in-law William Coates.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home , 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Saturday May 30th, 2009 for funeral mass at St. Paul's Church, Summerside at 10:30 a.m.. Visiting hours on Friday, 6-9 P.M. only. Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Julian's memory to the P.E.I. Lung Association or a charity of your choice would be greatly accepted.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
