Obituary of Maddix, Leo Joseph
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital on Monday, June 1st, 2009 of Leo Joseph Maddix of Wellington, P.E.I. and formerly of Richmond, aged 86 years. Leo was born in St. Gilbert, P.E.I. on January 16 th , 1923 to his late parents William & Exeline (nee Arsenault) Maddix.
Beloved husband of the late Mae (nee Bernard) Maddix. Loving father of Gladys (Michael) Chudleigh of Calgary, Ab., Diane (Patrick) Chaisson of St. Edwards, Doris (Les) Martin of Richmond, Leonard of Calgary, Ab. & John (Janet) of Rustico. Survived by his sisters Loretta (Ned) DesRoches of Wellington & Antoinette (Henry) Bernard of S'side & his brother Martin (Shirley) of Nfld.. Also lovingly remembered by his 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild & several nieces & nephews.
Besides his parents & wife, Leo was predeceased by his brother James, his sister Clara Bruhm, his brothers-in-law Peter Arsenault, Eric Bernard, Clifford Gallant & by his sister-in-law Doris Bernard.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Thursday June 4th, 2009 then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for funeral mass at 10:30 a.m.. Memorial donations in Leo's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Interment to take place in the church cemetery.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
