Obituary of Crossman, Doris Lenora
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital on Monday, July 27th , 2009 of Doris Lenora Crossman of Summerside and formerly of Central Bedeque,P.E.I., aged 95 years. Doris was born on February 23rd,1914 in Central Bedeque, P.E.I. to her late parents, Saul & Evelyn ( nee Sudsbury ) Crossman.
Survived by her brother Weldon Crossman of Central Bedeque and nephews Dale, Thane, Danny & Ronnie Crossman & nieces Eleanor Grass and Gail Taylor.
Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by her brother Jack Crossman, sisters Jennie Buchanan & Etta Lockhart, nieces Dianne Beer & Elizabeth Bowness & nephew Donald Buchanan.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Saturday, August 1st , 2009 for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m.. Interment to take place in the United Baptist Cemetery, Central Bedeque. Memorial donations in Doris' memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday evening only , 7 - 9 p.m. .

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
