Obituary of Gallant, Theresa " Yvonne "
The death occurred peacefully & surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital on Monday, August 3rd , 2009 of Theresa 'Yvonne' Gallant ( nee LeBlanc )of Miscouche and formerly of Kinkora, P.E.I., aged 70 years. Yvonne was born on April 21st , 1939 in Kinkora, P.E.I. to her late parents, John & Rose ( nee Bernard ) LeBlanc.
Beloved wife of John Gallant and loving mother of Robert ( Mary ) of Miscouche, Wayne of Miscouche, Karen ( Grant ) Gay of O'Leary & Peter ( Michele ) of Miscouche. Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Heather, Stacy & Riley along with her brothers & sisters-in-law and several nieces & nephews. Survived by her sisters Marie Doucette of Grand Valley, On. & Anne ( Mike ) LeBlanc of Greenwood , B.C. and her brother Leo ( Brenda ) LeBlanc of Hamilton, On. .
Besides her parents, Yvonne was predeceased by her father & mother-in-law Edmond & Bernadette Gallant and her brother-in-law Vincent Doucette.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, until Wednesday, August 5th , 2009 for funeral mass at St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche at 10:30 a.m. . Interment to take place in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Yvonne's memory to St. John the Baptist Church Restoration Fund would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Tuesday evening only, 7 - 9 p.m.. A Service of Remembrance will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday evening at 6:45 p.m. by members of the Royal Canadian
Legion, Branch # 18, Miscouche .
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
