Obituary of Bray, Marguerite Eileen " Peggy "
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday, August 17th , 2009 of Marguerite Elaine 'Peggy' Bray (nee Mansell) of Clinton View Lodge, Clinton, P.E.I. aged 85 years. Peggy was born in Ottawa, ON. on March 27, 1924 to her late parents Percival & Henrietta (nee Kirk) Mansell.
Much loved wife of the late John 'Jack' Bray and loving mother of Jane (Gary) Somers of S'side, P.E.I., Sue (Gord) Garriock of Miscouche, P.E.I., Catherine Walls of Detroit, Mich. & John of Ottawa, ON.. Loving Nanny to Chris (Christine) Somers, Peter (Michele) Somers, Robyn (Andrew) Griffin, Brayden Oppelt, Benji (Teries) Walls & Shrita (Johnny) Clark. Also affectionately known as "Nanny Peggy" to her 11 great grandchildren. Survived by her sister Patsy (John) Shaver of Ottawa ON..
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at the East Prince Funeral Home Chapel, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside, P.E.I. on Thursday August 20th, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. No visiting hours by family request . If so desired , memorial donations in Peggy's memory to the Clinton View Lodge Activity Fund would be greatly appreciated.
ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
