Obituary of Riddell, Earl Garfield
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by family & friends at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside on Friday, August 21st, 2009 of Garfield 'Earl' Riddell of Summerside, P.E.I. & formerly of Ottawa, On. , aged 72 years. Earl was born on June 9th, 1937 in Sudbury, On. to his late parents Earl & Marion ( nee Davis ) Riddell.
Beloved husband of Marie ( nee LeTourneau ) Riddell and loving father of Joanne ( Ken ) Lejeune of Nepean, On. and Robert 'Bobby' of Ottawa, On.. Also lovingly remembered by his step-daughters Sharon Troy of Ottawa, On. & Patricia ( Jacques ) Cote of Orleans, On. and loving grandfather to Bradley & Jennifer and step-grandfather to Jessica, James, Buddy, Katie, Jeremie, Frederick & Sara. Survived by his sister Jean ( Bob ) Smith of Burlington, On. & many nieces & nephews.
Besides his parents, Earl was predeceased by his sister Connie ( Bill ) Johnston.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday, August 25th , 2009 for a memorial service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. . Interment to take place at a later date in Bellevue Cemetery, Alymer, Quebec. Memorial donations in Earl's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. No visiting hours by family request.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
