Obituary of Cackette, William " Bill " Eric
The death occurred peacefully at the Summerset Manor, Summerside on Friday, September 3rd, 2010 of William 'Bill' Eric Cackette of Summerside and formerly of Vancouver, B.C. , aged 85 years. Bill was born on August 17th , 1925 in Vancouver , B.C. to his late parents, Eric & Margaret ( nee Cooke ) Cackette.
Beloved husband of Evelyn ( nee Paris ) Cackette and loving father of Willie , Genia Ainsworth, Janis Cackette & Susan ( Dan ) Matthews, all of Vancoucver, B.C.. Also lovingly remembered by his granddaughter Katrina ( Craig ) Swain , 2 great-grandchildren Larkin & Tegan , step-children James Paris of Edmonton, AB., Donna Paris of Toronto, ON., Bruce of Montreal, Que., Beverley Paris & Sandra Paris of Summerside, 7 loving grandchildren and 3 step great-grandchildren. Survived by his brother Fred ( Irene ) Cackette of Alberta and his sister Janis Ulstein of Seattle, Wash.
Besides his parents, Bill was predeceased by his brother Dick ( Susan ) Cackette.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Wednesday, September 8th , then to Summerside Baptist Church for funeral service at 11:00 a.m. . Visiting hours on Tuesday evening only , 7 - 9 p.m. . Memorial donations in Bill's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
