Obituary of Coughlin, Everett Charles
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by his loving family at the Prince County Hospital , Summerside on Sunday, March 6th , 2011 of Everett Charles Coughlin of Summerside, aged 84 years. Everett was born on October 8th, 1926 in Roxbury, Lot 6, P.E.I. to his late parents, Charles and Lorena ( nee Mitchell ) Coughlin.
Beloved husband of 62 years to Olive ( nee Dalton ) Coughlin and loving father of Clayton ( Louise ) of Fortune Cove, Charles ( Judi ) of Halifax, N.S. and Lorena ( Joey ) Sonier of Summerside. Also lovingly remembered by his 6 grandchildren : Margo ( Luke ) , Jana, Jolene ( Mark ) , Jenna ( Francois ) Matthew and Kristoffer, his 2 great-grandchildren Mallory and Emma and numerous nieces and nephews. Survived by his brothers and sisters: Lucy Smith of Summerside, Elvin ( Joan ) of Trenton, ON., Bannie ( Freda ) of Wilmot Valley, Jesse ( Dianne ) of Langley, B.C., Naomi ( Verdin ) Robinson of Brackley and Gilmore ( Rose ) of Summerside and sister-in-law Thelma Phillips of Alberton.
Besides his parents, Everett was predeceased by 2 brothers in infancy William and Russell and another brother Kenneth ( Jennie ), brothers and sisters-in-law Eva ( George) Clark , Lloyd ( Vera ) Dalton, Gertrude ( Marne ) Lewis, Sanford Phillips, Bernice Dalton and Marjorie Coughlin and his nephew Dale McLure.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Wednesday, March 9th , 2011 for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. . Interment to take place in People's Cemetery, Summerside at a later date. Visiting hours on Tuesday evening only , 7 - 9 p.m. .
Due to severe allergies of some family members, please refrain from wearing perfumes or scents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Everett's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
