Obituary of Batten, Mary " Freda "

The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at her late residence on Friday, September 30th , 2011 of Mary 'Freda' Batten ( nee Gallant ) of Summerside , P.E.I., aged 85 years. Freda was born on April 29th, 1926 in Summerside, P.E.I. to her late parents Albini 'Ben' and Alice ( nee Richards ) Gallant. Beloved wife of Robert Batten and loving mother of Sandra of Summerside and Bruce ( Sian ) of Calgary, AB. . Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Laura Rooney of Summerside and Chelsea & Jenna Batten of Calgary, AB ., her sisters-in-law Elaine Gallant of Summerside, Ruth Hall of New Jersey and Audrey Cheam of Montreal, along with several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Freda was predeceased by her brothers Edward , Joseph and Hubert Gallant. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday, October 4th for funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. . Interment to take place in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Valley. Memorial donations in Freda's memory to Home Care, East Prince Division would be greatly appreciated.
