Obituary of Richard, Alfred Joseph
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Sunday, October 10th, 2021, of Alfred Joseph Richard of Summerside and formerly of Mont-Carmel, P.E.I., aged 83 years. Alfred was born in Egmont-Bay to the late Tilman and Georgina (Poirier) Richard.
Beloved husband of Alice (Bernard) Richard and loving father of Yolande (Glenn) Gaudet.
Survived by his brothers and sisters Marguerite (Amand), Honoré, Olivier (Alphonsine), Célina (Edward) Gallant, Tilmon (Mae), Edgar (Eva), Freda Bernard (Pat), sisters-in-law Vitaline Arsenault, Vicky (Maynard) Ramsay, Rita Arsenault and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his birth parents Elizée and Théodosie Arsenault, his brothers Irenée, Amand, Phil, Regis, Gérard (Kay), Arsène (Julie Anne) and Donat, sister-in-law Mélina and by his stepfather Albin Poirier.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside. A private funeral mass will be held in St. Paul's Church, Summerside, followed by the interment in the church cemetery. Memorial donations in Alfred's memory can be made directly to the PEI Diabetic Association.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
