Obituary of Gautreau, Joseph Albenie " Roy "
The death occurred peacefully at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Wednesday, July 3rd , 2013 of Joseph Albenie " Roy " Gautreau of Summerside and formerly of Toronto, ON., aged 63 years. Roy was born on December 22nd , 1949 in Toronto, ON. to his father Narcisse of Summerside and also his late mother, Anita ( nee Cormier ) Gautreau.
Beloved father of Roy Jr. and loving grandfather of Trinity , both of Ontario. Survived by the following brothers and sisters : Normand ( Ginny ) of Toronto, ON., Eldon ( Pauline ) of Summerside, Daniel of Vancouver, Mona ( Eldon ) Arsenault of Summerside, Rachel Gautreau ( Pierre ) of Toronto, ON. and Noella Gautreau ( Leo ) of Riverview, N.B.. Also lovingly remembered by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Monday, July 8th for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. Interment to take place at St. Philippe and St. Jacques Cemetery, Egmont Bay. By personal request, there will be no visiting hours held. Memorial donations in Roy's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
