Obituary of Harris, Velda Rose
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Monday, August 26th, 2013 of Velda Rose Harris ( nee Arsenault ) of Chelton, P.E.I., aged 72 years. Velda was born on May 8th , 1941 in Lower Bedeque, P.E.I. to her late parents Hubert and Agnes ( nee Gallant ) Arsenault.
Beloved wife of the late Wensel Harris and loving mother of Kim ( Scott ) Jay, Michael ( Kelly ), Wensel ( Janice ), Krista ( Spencer ) Millman, Kent( Melissa ) and Nicholas ( Marilyn ). Also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Sarah, Kristopher and John Patrick Jay, Justin, Megan and Kayla Harris, Samantha, Lucas Harris and their mother Leann, Dylan and Molly Millman, Riley and Dryden Harris, Sadie Harris and her great-grand daughter Amelia. Survived by the following brothers and sisters : Betty, Shirley, Ruby, Nancy, Doug, David, Judy, Sally, Blair, Debbie and Rodney.
Besides her parents and husband, Velda was predeceased by her brothers Harvey, Bobby, Lorne, Ralph and Leroy in infancy.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Friday, August 30th then to St. Peter's Church, Seven Mile Bay for a funeral mass at 10:30 A.M.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Donation's in Velda's memory to P.E.I. Humane Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours at the church on Friday morning only from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral mass.

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
