Obituary of Elsinga, John Charles David
The death occurred at Fort McMurray, Alberta on October 5, 2013 of John Charles David Elsinga formerly of Graham's Road, PEI, age 49 years. John was born on December 14, 1963 in Guelph, Ontario to Peter and Wally (Joostema) Elsinga. Loving father of Peter "Zachary" Timothy (16), Jessica Catherine (14) and David Murchison (12). Survived by their mother, Karen Murchison of Charlottetown, PEI.
Survived by his brothers: Martin Elsinga (Dimphy), Montaque; Peter Elsinga (Katherine MacLeod), Wigmore Road and Harry Elsinga (Vicki), Graham's Road. Also his sisters: Margaret MacKay (Leslie), Campbellton; Ann MacKay (Matthew), Charlottetown; Evelyn McCarthy (Joe), Suffolk; Juliana Elsinga (James Clow), Wigmore Road; Elizabeth Ross (Martin), Cranbrook, BC and Nanette Clark (Maurice) Fort McMurray, AB.
Predeceased by his Father, Peter Elsinga and his Mother, Wally (Joostema) Elsinga.
Memorial Service will be held at St. John's Presbyterian Church, New London on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 10:30am. There will be no visiting hours by family request. In lieu of flowers any donations will be kept in trust for his childrens' education fund at the Malpeque Bay Credit Union.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
