Obituary of Rogers, Sara Marilyn

At Prince County Hospital, Summerside, PEI on Monday, December 16, 2013 Sara Marilyn (Noble, Johnson) Rogers donned her last pair of stilettos and danced from this world. She was the beloved wife of Jeffrey (Jeff) Rogers, Union Corner, PEI; cherished mother of Vanessa Johnson, Dieppe, NB. Step-mother of Jason and Theresa. Born in Torbrook Mines, NS on September 30,1952, she was the daughter of the late Homer and Vera (Wallace) Noble; sister of Malcolm (Anne), Elmsdale, NS; Theodore (pre-deceased) (Diane), Harrietsfield, NS; Richard and Homer (Daryl), Torbrook Mines, NS; Brian (Liz), Forest Glen, NS; twin sister, Joy, York, PEI; Shari (Allan) Wentworth, Liverpool, NS; aunt to seventeen and great-aunt to eighteen. She is also survived by Vanessa's father, Bruce Johnson, Yarmouth, NS. Sara (Sally) grew up in Torbrook Mines and graduated from Middleton Regional High School. She attended the Atlantic Police Academy, Charlottetown, PEI where she fell in love with the Island. While she lived and worked in Yarmouth, where Vanessa was born, and lived in Torbrook Mines and worked at OH Armstrong's in Kingston for many years, she was able to return to the Island in May 2005 and was able to live and work in a place that spoke to her of life in all its fullness. She had time to travel especially to Vancouver to watch Luongo and the Canucks and to Toronto to take in Cityline's "Fashion Friday" and the Bata Shoe Museum, indulging two of her passions. She was a person who inspired friendship, encouraged others and was a mentor to many, accepting differences as gifts and celebrating those who were willing to be generous and giving of themselves.
