Obituary of McNeill, Monica Mary
The death occurred peacefully and surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, January 14th , 2014 of Monica Mary McNeill (nee O'Keefe) of Summerside, P.E.I., aged 81 years. Monica was born on July 15th, 1932 in Grand Falls, Newfoundland to her late parents Charles and Mary (nee Griffin) O'Keefe.
Beloved wife of the late Tanton McNeill and loving mother of Michael (Michele) of Ottawa,ON., James (Connie) of Charlottetown, Anne (Steve) Gallant of Perth, ON., Elizabeth McNeill of Summerside, Jane McNeill of Ottawa, ON., Miriam (Richard) Bisson of Arnprior, ON., Susan (Phillip) Mundy of Halifax, N.S., Philip (Jaylene) of Ladner, B.C., Alicia (Howard) Eakins of Dartmouth, N.S. and Peter (Christine) of St. Eleanors. Also lovingly remembered by her 23 very special grandchildren and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Survived by her sister Anne O'Keefe of Truro, N.S..
Besides her parents and husband, Monica was predeceased by her grandson Philip Eakins and her brothers and sisters: Gertrude DeLong, Bernard O'Keefe, Marie Shallow, Cyril O'Keefe, Rose Deighan and Mary Frances in infancy.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Saturday, January 18th , then to St. Paul's Church, Summerside for a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m.. Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations in Monica's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Friday, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m..

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
