Obituary of Gaudet, Elmer William

The death occurred peacefully at Andrews Lodge, Summerside , P.E.I. on Wednesday, January 15th, 2014 of Elmer William Gaudet of Summerside and formerly of St. Nicholas and Miscouche, aged 90 years. Veteran of World War II and proud member of the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. Elmer was born on October 31st, 1923, in Summerville, Mass., U.S.A. to his late parents Ernest and Eileen (nee Poirier) Gaudet. Beloved husband of Corina (nee Perry) Gaudet and loving father of Gail (Edward) Comeau of Kingston, NS and Carolyn (Paul) Biggar of Tyne Valley. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Chris (Jenn) Gaudet, Darren (Angela) Gaudet, Krista (Dan) Pitts and Amanda (Joel) Arsenault, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Survived by the following brothers and sisters: Theresa Kasian of Winnipeg, MB, Marie Gaudet of Moncton, NB. George (Freda) Gaudet of Gatineau, Que., Archie of Palm Desert, California and sister-in-law Una Gaudet of Charlottetown. Besides his parents, Elmer was predeceased by his brother Gerard, brother-in-law Dr. Peter Kasian and son-in-law Archie Gaudet. Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday, January 17th, 2014 then to St. John the Baptist Church, Miscouche for a funeral mass at 10:30 a.m. . Interment to take place in the church cemetery at a later date. Visiting hours on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Memorial donations in Elmer's memory to the Parkinson Society or St. John the Baptist Church would be greatly appreciated.
