Obituary of Kurylyk, Alex
Peacefully on Saturday, February 1st, 2014 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, P.E.I., at age 89 years, Alex Kurylyk of the South Shore Villa, Crapaud and formerly of Bedeque, P.E.I. went to be with his Lord and Saviour. Alex was born on November 1st, 1924 in Toronto, ON. to his late parents William and Annie Kurylyk.
Beloved husband of 61 years of Linda (nee Court) Kurylyk and loving father of Lowell (Vikki), Susan Kurylyk, Ian (Elvira) and Iris (Marty) Fiorita. Also lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Mitchel, Robbie, Zachary and Barret Kurylyk, William Fiorita, Kyle Pineau, Melissa Allen, Stefanie Silver, Rebecca Eastwood, Katy Burrill and Laura Deschenes along with 12 great-grandchildren. Survived by sisters and brothers-in-law Una (Court) Curtis, Emard Court, Vance and Alice Court.
Besides his parents, Alex was predeceased by his brother Mike.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Tuesday, February 4th, for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m.. Interment to take place in the Searletown People's Cemetery, Searletown at a later date. Memorial donations in Alex's memory to the Prince County Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Monday evening only , 6:30 - 8:30 p.m..

ABOUT US
In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
