Obituary of Arsenault, Joseph Marcel
The death occurred peacefully with his loving family by his side at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, P.E.I. on Tuesday, October 6th, 2015 of Joseph "Joe" Marcel Arsenault of Summerside, aged 69 years. Joe was born in Saint John, NB. to his late parents Madeline Gallant and Joe Arsenault and was raised by his mom the late Cyrinne Gallant.
Beloved husband of Darlene (nee Blades) Arsenault and loving father of Tina Purdy of Summerside and Aaron and Dwayne DeMings of B.C. Also lovingly remembered by his 9 grandchildren Gary, Paige, Tianna, Summer, Angela, Charles, Brandon, Anthony and Gregory, 1 great grand daughter Celina and several nieces and nephews.
Survived by his brother Tossie (Darlene) Bernard, sister Helen Munroe and special cousins Marcella Bernard and Julie Paugh.
Besides his parents, Joe was predeceased by his brother Sammy and sister Yvonne.
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Rd., Summerside until Friday October 9th, for a funeral service in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joe's memory to the Palliative Care Unit Prince County Hospital or the funeral expense fund would be greatly appreciated. Interment to take place in St.Paul's Cemetery, Summerside. Visiting hours on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7- 9 p.m.
Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 18 Miscouche will hold a Service of Remembrance on Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

In the late 1980's, a group of citizens from the East Prince area met to discuss the possibility of establishing a co-operative funeral home. Two such homes were operating successfully in Prince County, namely the West Prince Funeral Home in Palmer Road and the Evangeline Funeral Home in Urbainville. As a result, on January 24th, 1989, the East Prince Funeral Co-operative Ltd. was formed.
