It’s with great sadness to announce the passing of Carole Irene Lily Haggart MacFarlane on August 18th, 2026. She was the devoted and loving wife for 35 years to Peter MacFarlane, loving mother of Ethan & Jessica (Morrill) MacFarlane and Mary-Lynn Aitken, grandmother to Hunter MacFarlane, Archie and Emme Aitken and Kaisen MacFarlane, and expecting unborn Twins (From Ethan & Jessica )

She is predeceased by her parents, Robert and Patricia Haggart, her godmother, Irene Long, her sister, Susan Pfarrer, and nephew, Jason Pfarrer.

Carole grew up in Montreal and Pointe Claire, where she spent her time with her close family and aunts. She has always been a caring person and would fondly spend the days babysitting and caring for others. One trip to PEI to visit an uncle led to a blind date that changed the rest of her life. She was quickly moving to be with her loving husband of 35 years, grow her family and spread her kindness in her community. 

For all those who had met her, they could quickly see she was a large personality who would give everything she had to make sure those around her were protected and cared for, spending her days doing these things to the best of her abilities. She was the glue that held the family together.

Carole will be greatly missed by all close family and friends, and all of those who were lucky enough to feel the warmth of her love. 

Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, August 27th, then to Bedeque United Church for funeral service at 11 a.m. Visitation on Wednesday, August 26th from 5-7 p.m. Interment to be held at a later date. Donations in Carole's memory to the PEI Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
