It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas “Tommy” Noonan at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, PEI on Wednesday, August 19th, 2026.  Tommy was born on August 4, 1946 to the late Walter & Mary (McNeill) Noonan and was raised in Richmond, PE. Beloved husband of 54 years to Wanda (Rollings) Noonan and was a loving father to Kaye Anne Noonan (Matthew Totten) and Lana Paige (Raymond) Chaisson, and grandfather to Lydia Paige Totten. Survived by his siblings, Dorothea MacNeill, Lillian (Claude) Goodwin, Kenny (Sandy) Noonan, Donna Marie (Kenny) Steele, Joe (Marlene) Noonan & Kip (Cathy Anne) Noonan and brothers- in- law Bill (Jeanette) MacLellan and David Axworthy along with many nieces and nephews.  

Predeceased by his siblings Jimmy, Blain, Laurena MacLellan and Pauline (Jim) Cliff, brother-in-law Gardiner MacNeill, sister-in-law Nadene Axworthy and parents-in-law Blair and Mabel Rollings.

Tommy spent his 47 year career operating heavy equipment.  During this time, he was a dedicated and hard-working employee for Curran & Briggs, Island Coastal and the Dept. of Highways. Tommy also enjoyed making his daily visits to Tim Hortons to see his buddies, catching up on the latest news and sharing a few laughs.  He took a lot of pride in keeping his property, vehicles and garage neat and tidy, and believed that if you were going to do a job, you better do it right the first time!

Most importantly, Tommy lived his life devoted to his family. He was the quiet calm in the room, who could often bring perspective or reflection to a conversation with just a few words or simple phrases. He will be remembered by his family for his kind and quiet strength, adored by his two daughters. The real apple of his eye soon became his granddaughter, Lydia Paige. He loved watching and hearing all about her hockey and soccer games, but reminding her the importance of working hard in school, too. Tommy will be forever remembered as having a kind, patient and soft demeanour, who would always greet you with a smile or a wave.  He is going to be greatly missed by those who loved and cared for him.

Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Wednesday, August 26, 2026. Then to St. Paul’s Catholic Church for a funeral mass at 10:30am. Visiting hours Tuesday, August 25, 2026 4-6 pm.  Interment to take place at a later date.  Special thank you to Dr. David Antle and the staff at the PCH.
