It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Hugh Donald Kennedy, age 83, of Summerside, Prince Edward Island, formerly of Cornwall, Ontario, on August 9, 2026.

Donald will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Donna Kennedy; his sons, Scott (April) and Shawn (Judy); and his grandchildren, Patrick (Katie) and Brenna (Ryan).

He is survived by his brothers, John Delaney (Sylvie) and Hughie Delaney; and his sisters, Rosalie Gill (Wayne), Judy Fournier (Gary), Jane Boileau (Richard), Theresa Chisholm (Kenny), Lois Currier (Clair) and Catherine Lapointe (the late Larry).

Donald will also be lovingly remembered by his special cousins, Robert Atchison (Wendy), Gary Atchison (Penny), Kevin Atchison (the late Susan) and Margaret “Peggy” Tremblay (Brian).

He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Delaney (née Kennedy), her husband, Lloyd, his special aunt and uncle, Florence and Hugh “Chief” Atchison, and his special cousins, Jack Atchison and Sharon Gallinger.

Donald was also a brother-in-law to Sue Quinn (Mike), Lori Chiasson (Andre) and Jim Pineau (Janet).

He leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly, and who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him.

Donald will be remembered for his love of family, his kindness, and the many memories he shared with those closest to him. His love of old country music was a special part of his life, and he enjoyed listening to it right until the very end.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

Forever loved, forever remembered.

Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245, Pope Road, Summerside.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
