The death occurred peacefully on Sunday, June 14, 2026 of David Joseph Arsenault, 81 years, at Prince County Hospital, with his family as his side; beloved husband of Sandra Arsenault (nee Praught) of 58 years, . David was the son of the late Fidele and Catherine Arsenault (nee Martin). 

Left to mourn are his children, Randy (Theresa) Arsenault, and Ann (Darrell) Smith; brothers, Jimmy Arsenault, Alvin (Eleanor) Arsenault; as well as his grandchildren, Vanessa (Jerrett) Arsenault, Jeremy (Emily) Arsenault, Courtney (Matt) Smith and Brooke (Chris) Orlich. Also lovingly remembered by sister-in-law, Mary (Lew-deceased) Champion, Louise (Ronnie-deceased) Desroches, and Sylvia (Bruce) Cole. 

David was predeceased not only by his parents but also by his father-in-law, Fred Praught, mother-in-law, Dolores, stepfather-in-law, Kline Court, and brother-in-law, Joey Court.

David was a friendly and loving man who enjoyed helping and talking to all his neighbors.  Every morning you could find David at the Waterfront with friends, Austin, Kenny and Arnold catching up on the town gossip. He loved playing cards, fishing, woodworking, and most of all his family. He was a wonderful husband, poppa and Bobby.  We know his beloved dog, Buddy was extra excited when he joined him in Heaven. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Morash and Dr. Zdrill, as well as the nurses and staff at Prince County Hospital and Moncton City Hospital for the compassionate care received.  They wish to extend a special thanks and appreciation to "nurse Sky" for the exceptional kindness and care extended.

Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Thursday, June 18, 2026 for a funeral service in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place in St. Paul's Catholic Cemetery following the service. Donations in David's memory to the PEI Humane Society would be greatly appreciated. Visiting hours on Thursday, June 18th at 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. (before the funeral service).
