It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary Francis Young on June 5, 2026, at the age of 81.
Born in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador, Mary was the daughter of the late Mary (Leprieur) Young and Walter Young. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.
Mary is lovingly remembered by her children: Fabian O'Brien (Melanie Titus) and Daniel James (DJ) O'Brien (Bobbi-Ann O'Brien), and by her cherished grandson, Daniel James O'Brien.
She is also survived by her sister Shirley Fudge and her brother Wally Young (Joan), along with many nieces and nephews, including Cathy Bartlett, Lisa Hunt (Todd), Rodney Young (Rhonda), Michael Bartlett, Todd Duffney, John Duffney, and lan Lilly (Carol). Mary will also be fondly remembered by her many dear friends in Newfoundland and Alberta.
She was predeceased by her sisters Judy Gaudon (Ray) and Florence (Amy) Vitkunas (Tony).
Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside.
In keeping with Mary's wishes, there will be no ceremony or memorial service. Those wishing to honour her memory may consider making a donation to an animal charity, such as the SPCA.
