The death occurred peacefully at his home, with his loving wife by his side, of Peter Johns of Slemon Park and formerly of Borden, PEI, aged 72 years.

Peter was born in Liverpool, England, to his late parents, Monica and Daniel Johns. Beloved husband of Roma Johns (Palmer).

My husband was one of the strongest, bravest, loving, caring and most kindhearted people I've known. He made everyone feel welcome into his home with open arms and a great sense of humor. He was a hard worker, a handyman, he loved to do everything around his home which he took with great pride from painting, laying flooring, building a deck, cooking and even housework.

Peter worked at many places over the years including the Mushroom plant in Freetown; managing Jerry's Restaurant in Borden; Inspection Officer at IWMC, Wellington and Straight Crossing, helping construct the bridge in Borden, PEI.

Peter had a very special friend and companion, "Loki", his precious fur baby. They loved to sit out on the deck that Peter built, throwing a ball. A special mention of Peter's special brothers, Paul and Nick in England who never missed a day phoning Peter to see how he was doing. Peter really looked forward to their phone call as they lifted his spirits. We will be "forever grateful”. Peter adored his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Palmer, who resides in the Wedgewood Manor. Peters wish was to be able to get out of his bed and go visit mother one last time; unfortunately, that never happened.

Thanks to Peter's brother-in-law, David, who was there from the start as well as our best friends, Ken and Dianne Cheverie, who never missed a day visiting Peter with tea or coffee.

Special thanks to the Palliative Care team and Home Care. The care and compassion shown to Peter during his illness was amazing, you all deserve medals.

Peter is survived by his very special mother-in-law, Elizabeth Palmer, his special fur baby "Loki", the following brothers and sisters: Martin, Timothy (Debbie), Nick (Claire), Paul (Amanda). Brothers and sisters-in-law: Eleanor (Bob), Deborah, David (Alfonso), Verna (Kenny), Anna, Robert and very special dear friends, Ken and Dianne, Ivan and Lil.

Donations in Peter's memory to the Prince County Hospital ICU or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

By personal request, there will be no visitation or service held. A Celebration of Life will occur at a later date.
