Judith Lynn MacLellan Obituary
Judith Lynn MacLellan (Picard), beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Prince County Hospital, Summerside, PEI, on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the age of 74.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, Judith was the daughter of the late Ted and Lou Picard (Peterson). She was predeceased by her husband, the late Gene MacLellan, whose music she treasured deeply throughout her life. Judith was endlessly proud of the musical gifts carried on through her children and grandchildren, and there was nothing she loved more than hearing music fill a room and bring her family together.
Family and friends meant everything to Judith, and she nurtured those relationships with loyalty, humour, generosity and care. With her big heart, she had a special way of making people feel welcomed, remembered and deeply loved – always making life feel a little more “AMAZING,” a word that became a famous inside joke among those closest to her.
She had a love for travel, creating treasured memories throughout her life. One of her most meaningful journeys was her trip to Scotland, and she especially cherished the many visits she made to Germany to spend time with Jan.
Judith will be lovingly remembered by her children: Philip (Chantal) MacLellan, Rachel (Jeff) Evans, and Catherine MacLellan (Mark Westberg), and by her chosen son, Jan Cremer. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Emily (Justyn), Austin (Zoe), Jesse (Chelsea), Chandler, Rye, Charlie, Isabel, and Madelyn, and great-grandmother to Parker and Blair.
She is also survived by her siblings: Gary Picard (Shirley Anne MacArthur), Cheryl Picard (Charles Silliphant), Rick Picard (Joanne Levesque), Bob (Mary) Picard, and Brenda Picard (Rick Cuttell), along with many special nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside, PEI, until Friday, May 22, 2026, where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 p.m.
By personal request, there will be no visitation. A celebration of Judith’s life will follow the funeral service at Evermore Brewing, 192 Water St, Summerside, from 2 - 4 p.m. Interment will take place at a later date at the Birch Hill Free Church of Scotland Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Judith’s memory may be made directly to the Prince County Hospital Foundation.
