The death occurred peacefully at home, with her family by her side of Marie Pearl Walsh (née Curtis) on May 4, 2026

Born on March 8, 1949, in Grand Falls, Newfoundland, Marie was the youngest daughter of the late Paul and Cassie (Stanfield) Curtis. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Clifford Walsh, and their son, Kevin Walsh.

Marie was a loving mother to Paul (Kelly), Angel (Byron) Linkletter, and Lisa (Kevin) Smith and a proud and caring Nan to Kevin Jr., Kyle (Laura),  Faith (Parker), Ty, Landon, and Layney and step-nan to Zachary, each of whom brought her great joy. She was also thrilled to become a great nan to baby Malcolm later this year.

Marie is survived by brother Paul Curtis and sister Esther Pollard, as well as her sisters and brothers-in-law Sheila (Lea) Martin, Cathy Parsons, Jenny Walsh,  Marion Walsh, Brian Wright,  Dean Wright and Vernette Curtis.  Marie also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. She was predeceased by sisters Maggie Way Ledrew, Ethel O'Dea, Gloria Curtis and Evelyn Miller and brothers Wallace (Ruth), Wilson (Alma), Pearce and Gordon Curtis as well as sisters and brothers in law Freya Walsh, Leslie Walsh, Sharon (Chester) Martin, Laurie Wright, Linda Butte, Dicky Walsh, Kelley Walsh, John Pollard, Roy Way Sr and Linda Curtis.

A proud Newfie, Marie always held a deep connection to her roots and loved returning home to Grand Falls whenever she could. “Aunt Pearl” as she was lovingly known there will be remembered for her warmth, her strong family ties, and the love she shared so freely with those around her.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her.

No visiting hours by personal request. Funeral service to take place on Thursday, May 7th at 2 pm at The Salvation Army, Summerside. Burial will be at a later date.
