The death occurred peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Prince County Hospital, Summerside, PEI, on Friday February 13th, 2026 of Marlene Lois Mitchell (Blois) of Summerside, aged 87 years.  Marlene was born in Saint John, NB, to the late George and Edith Blois (Cassady).

Beloved wife of the late Cecil Mitchell and loving mother of Wendy (Bob) Peters, Chris Chatham, Linda (Kent) Kidwell, Bruce Makin, daughter-in-law Joanne Chatham, Also lovingly remembered by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survived by her sister Helen Jones, and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her sons Mark Chatham and Stanley (Ethel) Makin, brother John Blois and brother-in-law Ernest Jones.

Resting at the East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Saturday February 21st, 2026 where a funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment to take place in the Hillside Cemetery, Upper Musquodoboit, NS, at a later date. Donations in Marlene’s memory can be made directly to the Prince County Hospital Foundation. Visiting hours are on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m.
