The death occurred peacefully at Andrew’s of Stratford on Sunday, January 25, 2026, of George Gerald McCabe, formerly of Middleton, P.E.I., aged 97 years.  Predeceased by his wife Bertha McCabe (2022).  Dear father of Mary Alice (Lawrence) Rooney, Jean Ann (Alden) O’Brien, Betty Lou McCabe (Jerry Baskey), Gerald (Sandy) McCabe, Gerard (Peggy) McCabe, Grace (Paul) Montgomery, Clare (Ryan) Woodrow.

Also lovingly remembered by 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Survived by his sister-in-law Margaret (Pius deceased) MacNeil and Phil (Greg) Campbell. Predeceased by his parents Alice (Curley) McCabe and Fred McCabe, son-in-law Brian MacRae, brother-in-laws John (Claire) Grace, Donald Grace, Bernard (Kay) Grace, Jerome (Marge) Grace, Roddie Grace, and sister-in-laws Theresa (JB) MacDonald, Marie (John) Finnegan, Mary Kay Grace and Cecilia Grace. 

Resting at East Prince Funeral Home, 245 Pope Road, Summerside until Monday, February 2nd, 2026, then to St. Malachy's Church, Kinkora for a funeral mass at 10:30 am.  Interment to take place at a later date in St. Malachy's Cemetery.  Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, February 1st, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
